If you have a shower curtain then you know that maintaining it clean is the key to having a spotless bathroom. No matter how many times you scrub the tub or clean the toilet – your bathroom won’t look clean unless you also take care of your shower curtains.
Many people throw their plastic shower curtains when they are dirty and they replace it, however, you should know that that isn’t necessary. All you need to do is clean it and it will look like it’s brand new.
Now, thankfully, cleaning shower curtains aren’t that hard especially if yours are made out of plastic. In fact, I will show you exactly how easy it is!
Also, keep in mind that you don’t need any special detergents, commercial cleaners, or anything fancy – just natural ingredients!
How To Clean Your Plastic Shower Curtain
Now, there are two different cleaning methods you can apply – and each requires you to use different natural ingredients you already have in your home.
Let’s start with baking soda
You can clean your plastic shower curtain with baking soda. Now, don’t assume that you need to scrub the curtain with the baking soda. Instead, you will place two towels in your washing machine then you will place the shower curtain in there. Next, add 1/2 cup of baking soda where you would normally put the laundry detergent. Turn on your washing machine then once it’s time for the rinse cycle add 1/2 cup of vinegar in the laundry detergent compartment.
You can also use bleach
If there is mildew or mould on the shower curtain than this method will be perfect. Again, you need to place the curtain in your washing machine with two towels. Then add warm water, 1/4 cup of laundry detergent, and 1/2 cup of bleach in your washing machine and turn on the appliance.
